Under the golden sunshine that defied Thailand's rainy season, Bioakso Sugar (Thailand) Co., Ltd. celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of its 100,000-ton Healthy Food Ingredients Project at 304 Industrial Park. The event, attended by over 50 distinguished guests from government agencies, business partners, and industry leaders, marked the launch of a visionary endeavor poised to reshape the global functional food market.
A Symphony of Collaboration
The ceremony commenced with speeches from CEO Ms. Song Haiying, shareholder of Bioakso™, emphasized the project's strategic alignment with leveraging Thailand's locational advantages, policy benefits, and resource strengths. "This $65 million investment is not just a factory, but a bridge connecting our advanced biotechnology with Thailand's agricultural resources and global trade networks," she stated. Her speech highlighted gratitude to Thailand's Board of Investment (BOI), the 304 Industrial Park team led by CEO Mr. Kittiphan Chitpentham, and construction partner Sinoma.
Mr. Zhu Jianhua, CEO of Canadian partner BIONEUTRA, applauded the project's precise positioning: "Bioakso™'s decision to build a factory in Thailand is a very important and correct choice, which has enabled us to have a higher-quality and more reliable source of goods for our products sold in the North American market."
Technological Edge & Market Ambitions
The three-phase project, slated for full completion by 2026, aims to produce 10,000 tons of prebiotics, 50,000 tons of soluble dietary fiber, and 40,000 tons of zero-sugar alternatives annually. With an estimated annual revenue of $210 million, it will serve 80+ countries and tap into the booming $40 billion global functional food market.
A highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of plans for a joint R&D center with Thai academic institutions. "Imagine Southeast Asia's bubble tea shops using our fibers, or sugar-free chocolates in US and Euro supermarket labeled 'Made in Thailand' — this is the future we're building," Ms. Song envisioned.
Rituals of Prosperity
The event crescendoed with traditional rituals: a Golden Scissors Ceremony symbolizing fortune, the unveiling of a foundation stone engraved with English-Sino-Thai motifs, and a lively earth-turning session where 14 hosts and guests, including shareholders, business partners, leaders of 304 park, OBD Mr. Yothin Pongor, village head Ms. Suparat Thanoi and Sinoma executives, wielded gilded shovels amid firecrackers. The clear skies were hailed as an auspicious sign, with attendees joking that "even the rain gods approved of this sweet venture."
Looking Ahead
As the ceremony concluded with group photos against the backdrop of the 100-acre site, Ms. Song Haiying reflected: "Today, we planted seeds of health that will grow across borders. By 2025, our prebiotics will reach EU and US shelves— and this is just the beginning.”
With its fusion of cutting-edge technology, cross-border synergy, and a commitment to wellness, Bioakso™'s Thailand venture stands as a testament to the power of global collaboration in an era of transformative trade.
